About
Born with an innate passion for music, Herman embarked on a lifelong journey to master the art of creating evocative soundscapes that resonate with audiences across genres.
Hailing from the Norwegian town Kristiansand, Herman's musical prowess emerged at a young age. He began playing the violin at the tender age of 11, however, he switched over to piano and keyboards in his teens. His prodigious talent soon became apparent to those around him. Encouraged by his family and mentors, he delved deep into the world of music, studying piano, composition and music theory rigorously at the University of Agder and at Saint Louis College of Music in Rome.
With an insatiable curiosity and a desire to push artistic boundaries, Herman immersed himself in various musical styles, drawing inspiration from classical, jazz, electronic, and world music. This diverse palette of influences became the foundation of his unique compositional style, characterized by its rich harmonies, intricate melodies, and inventive orchestrations.
"Herman is a young, exiting and unique pianist who draws inspiration from Fartein Valen, Chick Corea, Knut Riisnæs and Eyvind Wahlen. As a musician, Herman explores a clean harmonic language with focus on the melodic aspects, and a huge development in his harmonic coloring".
